Fintech company Adyen grows faster than ever – in Sweden

Dutch fintech company Adyen grows with record speed in Sweden.

Adyen was founded in 2006. Since then the Dutch payment company has managed to attract interest from tech giants like Facebook and Airbnb.

In the Nordic countries it has been less successful, with tough competition from companies like Klarna and iZettle.

But that is now about to change. Over the past year, Adyen has tripled its customers in the Nordic countries, Breakit reports. The vast majority of these customers are from Sweden.

“Sweden stands for 80-85 percent of the growth and an equal amount of our Nordic customers are here,” says Jussi Lindberg, Adyen’s head of business development in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
